Update – January 17, 2022: Turnpike Expansion

Good day all,

Turnpike Expansion

Florida’s Turnpike engineering team is preparing for a January 18, 2022 (virtual) and January 19, 2022 (in-person) Public Information Meeting to discuss their plans to widen the Turnpike adjacent to Coconut Creek. These plans may be of particular concern to you, residents of Coconut Creek, because we anticipate the alternative preferred by the Turnpike will involve widening entirely to the west, impacting all of the properties along the east boundary of our City. We need your immediate help.

The proposed additional four lanes will bring them to our Property Line and therefore IN OUR BACKYARDS!

Project details and registration.  You can submit verbal comments directly to Project Manger’s Email or direct line (407-264-3298) before and after the meeting.

DOT and Turnpike Team Members will be discussing the proposed plans of expansion that will affect all of Wynmoor! We need you to join the fight!  We encourage Unit Owner TURNOUT. We are asking for your support to ‘STOP’ the Expansion!

Please fill out the attached petition by clicking here. You can fill the form out online return it via email at RecEnt@wynmoorcc.org. Complete the form and return it by Tuesday, January 18th.  Forms will also be available for pick up and drop off from the Patrol on Duty at the Main Pool.

The proposed expansion of the Florida Turnpike is a danger to our current standard of living. We are all concerned about this project, which is expected to take approximately four years to complete. During this time period, the heavy construction will become a burden, causing an excess of pollution, possible power outages, an extreme amount of noise, both day and night.
